My dogs

This is my dog her names Cola, she is a 16 month old German Shepherd. she is 25 incs tall and weighs 80 pounds shes a very fearless loyal dog, from a young age she has been very protective.

The reason i decided to get a German Shepherd was because I've always loved and wanted a dog from a young age, but i also wanted a good guard dog for the household.

Some people may think Rottweilers or Dobermans are better guard dogs because they may be more powerful and slightly larger. But they lack the intelligence and courage a German Shepherd has. A German shepherd is a very smart breed.

I would Recommend German Shepherds to anyone who is looking for a good family dog but also a dog which is a good protector of the home. German Shepherds are instinctively very protective dogs and have a very high prey drive .

One other thing i would also like to mention is people often think a German Shepherd and an Alsatian are two different breeds of dogs. This is not the case

After both World Wars, I and II, anything associated with the name "German" fell out of popularity.

So, to avoid the use of the word German in the name for the German Shepherd Dog breed, many countries and kennel clubs changed the name of the dog breed to get rid of the negative German association.

But some people such as myself still use the name German Shepherd.

This is Hennesesy he is a cross between a Pittbull and a Mastiff, hes 13 months old and is 23 incs tall and weighs 65 pounds. He is a really powerful, loyal dog. He currently lives with my sister but he lived with me for 6 months so i still consider him one of my dogs.

At first sight he may seem very intimidating but hes like a Labrador hes really friend and has never shown any aggression to anyone.

I think people need to change there stereotype of Pittbulls alot of people seem to think all Pittbulls are aggressive, this is not the case, i don't think any dog is born aggressive. Only way a dog will become a aggressive if its owner makes it aggressive.
When i walk Hennesy or let him off the leash in the park people often get scared or pick up their dogs, i have met alot of aggressive Labrador's and Jack Russels yet people don't see these two dogs in negative ways.
